Injectables
 Collagen is a naturally occurring protein that provides support to various parts of the human body: the skin, the joints, the bones and the ligaments. Injectable collagen, patented by the Inamed Corporation under the trade names Cosmoderm® and Cosmoplast®, is derived from recombinant human collagen. Injectable collagen received approval from the Food and Drug Administration in 1981. It is produced in various thicknesses to meet individual patient needs as it can be injected just below the skin's surface to smooth wrinkles, fill in deep furrows and folds, and restore the lip border.
Collagen is used primarily to fill wrinkles, lines and scars on the face and sometimes the neck, back and chest.
 Restylane® is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds , such as nasolabial folds.
Restylane® is the only cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a crystal-clear gel called NASHAT or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid. Restylane maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is hydrophilic or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic acid to bind to water is what helps provide lasting results.
 Perlane is an injectable filler used to treat deep facial lines, augment the lips and contour the cheeks and chin. Made by Medicis, the same company that produces Restylane®, Perlane® contains purified hyaluronic acid, a sugar found naturally in the body that works with collagen to keep the skin smooth and supple. It is hypoallergenic and so does not require a pre-treatment skin test. With its unique ability to bind with water, Perlane continues to perform up to 60% longer than collagen.
 Touted as the "next generation" of facial fillers, Juvéderm™ injectable gels gently smooth wrinkles and folds around the mouth and nose and restore a youthful volume to the face. Made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body that works with collagen and elastin to provide volume and support to the skin, Juvéderm™ is especially effective on smile lines and "parentheses" (nasolabial folds) that run from the bottom of the nose to the sides of the mouth. Treatment takes only 15 minutes with immediate results and no downtime. Results typically last about 6-9 months.
 Radiesse® is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body's natural collagen supply. Composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, Radiesse is made from the same minerals found in our bones, so it carries little risk of allergic reaction. Radiesse
can be used on many areas of the body, including the lips, nasolabial folds, peri-oral lines, depressed scars and oral commissures.
Treatments typically take 15 minutes and require only local anesthetic. Side effects such as swelling or bruising are minimal and should fade within a few days. Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for months or years, although the procedure can be repeated as often as you wish.
 Sculptra™ is a sculpting agent that restores volume to correct the signs of facial fat loss. Facial fat loss, or lipoatrophy, is the loss of fat beneath the skin, which can result in sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes. Sculptra™ is a safe, synthetic, and biocompatible material that is injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss. It provides a gradual
and significant increase in skin thickness, improving the appearance of folds and sunken areas. No skin testing is required.
