What is LAVIV™?

LAVIV™ is an autologous cellular product used to improve the appearance of moderate to severe nasolabial folds, or the smile lines. An autologous product is one that is obtained from the same individual – which means that your LAVIV™ is made specially for you from your own collagen-producing fibroblast skin cells. It is the first and only FDA-approved individualized therapy that helps polish the smile lines.

Who is a candidate for LAVIV™?

LAVIV™ is a treatment recommended for adults, men and women, who desire to improve the appearance of their smile lines, using a biological treatment that is made exclusive for the specific individual. The treatment uses the patient’s own cells, and it is clinically proven to be safe and effective.

The LAVIV™ Treatment

LAVIV™ is a 100% personalized therapy. Your LAVIV™ is made of tens of millions of collagen-producing fibroblast skin cells cultivated from your own skin samples. The cells are placed in a mixture of water, sugars, vitamins, amino acids, and salts. The final product contains at least 98% pure collagen producing skin cells – which means that each LAVIV™ dose is as exclusive as you are!

To create the personalized LAVIV™ treatment, your physician will take your skin sample and send it to a Fibrocell Science facility, where it will be reproduced into millions of new collagen-producing fibroblast cells. Those new cells will, then, be frozen, and some will be used immediately, while some will be stored at the facility for future use.

It takes about 3 months to prepare your individualized LAVIV™ therapy. The procedure is, then, spread over the course of 3 treatment sessions, spaced at 3 to 6 weeks intervals each. At each treatment, LAVIV™ will be injected directly into the smile lines using a small needle.
