Laser-Assisted Liposuction, neck liposuction, submental liposuction. This 67-year-old female patient underwent laser-assisted liposuction of the neck. Our patient’s concern was with the lines that encircled her neck and made her look older. The patient suggested Kybella which is a nonsurgical injection that helps with the breakdown of fat and is commonly used in the neck or double chin area. Although, following her consultation with Dr. Tehrani, she decided to move forward with a laser-assisted liposuction procedure (Laser-Assisted Lipoplasty (LAL) or SmartLipo) to achieve her desired look as she was a better candidate for this. Laser-assisted lipoplasty is an innovative procedure for both removing excess fat and firming loose skin. It’s a minimally invasive procedure and uses a single laser fiber that is introduced through a small cannula that has been inserted into a small incision which can be done under local anesthesia.
