Get Ready For Reunion Season with a Facelift!

Another year means another season of milestone reunions is almost here. But are you looking tired, but feeling great? Does getting in front of a mirror make you hesitate for a minute, not wanting what looks back at you? And if you think you’re looking older than you think you should, maybe it’s time to consider having Facelift Surgery at Aristocrat under the expertise of NYC plastic surgeon Dr. Tehrani.

A facelift (rhytidectomy) is a procedure that’s designed to improve the most visible signs of aging. For a lot of women (and, increasingly, men) the desire to have a youthful look for a big occasion like a class reunion is a major reason facelifts are so popular. By removing excess skin and fat, tightening any underlying muscles, and re-draping the skin of your face and neck, Dr. Tehrani can turn back the clock on your facial appearance.

The surgery corrects a sagging neckline, the appearance of jowls, the deposit of fat along the jawline and neck, and a deepening of the lines between the nose and corners of the mouth, or nasolabial folds.

The goal of a facelift is a youthful facial appearance. Although aging does not stop, a facelift can push back the baseline, and in most cases ten years, to give you the self-confidence that comes with a younger look. The results will not wear off, but when further aging occurs, you can choose to have a secondary facelift in the future. Good candidates for a facelift include women and men whose faces and necks are beginning to sag — typically between the ages of 45 and 70, which is prime time for all of those milestone class reunions!

The facelift is an outpatient procedure that’s usually performed under general anesthesia, and takes between 2 and 3 hours. Some procedures use local anesthesia with intravenous sedation.

Following the facelift, about 1 or 2 hours is spent in the recovery room before discharge to an aftercare facility or home for private nurse care. Over the course of around 10 days, bandages and stitches will be removed until any bruising or swelling heals. Makeup can be applied typically after 1 week, while work and social activities can be resumed after 2 weeks, but no strenuous exercise for 2 to 3 weeks!

Ready to Celebrate your new Outlook?

Now that everything has healed and you’re looking like a new person, there’s no better way to celebrate the “new you” at your reunion, or whatever social event you choose with dazzling new outfit, a lot of selfies with friends, and a big broad smile to show your newfound confidence!

Get Beach Body Ready with Customized Liposuction!

With the warm weather seasons just ahead, don’t be caught at the beach with your winter weather body! It’s time to get ready to show off some skin with a liposuction procedure that’s customized to improve your body’s contours. Liposuction removes stubborn fat deposits that have failed to respond to diet and exercise. Dr. Tehrani has performed countless successful liposuction procedures on his patients. Each procedure has been customized for them based on their anatomy and how they would like to look. The technology of liposuction can recontour the face or body.

Liposuction can remove the fat cells from the treated area on your body, but it’s not a substitute for weight control or exercise. You can still put on weight after the liposuction procedure, although the fat will be distributed more uniformly throughout your body. It doesn’t accumulate disproportionately in the same areas.

Whether you’re a man or woman, you can benefit from liposuction. The most frequently treated areas in women are the chin, abdomen, thighs, hips, knees, arms, back, buttocks, calves, and ankles. For men, the typical sites for liposuction are the neck, chin, abdomen, “love handles,” and chest/male breasts (gynecomastia).

Likely candidates for liposuction include those who have a double chin or localized pockets of fat on their bodies that have not budged despite exercise and weight loss efforts. A person that is of relatively normal weight with one or more areas of fat deposits and with good skin elasticity is also considered a good candidate.

The liposuction procedure is an outpatient procedure that can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation, depending on the technique used and the procedure’s extent.

Dr. Tehrani makes small incisions in inconspicuous locations so that a hollow tube called a cannula can be inserted into the skin. The popular tumescent liposuction technique, which uses fluid to reduce bleeding and pain, takes the cannula and attaches it to a clear plastic tube which is connected to a vacuum device. The excess fat is then removed in layers until a pleasing improvement is made.

There are different types of liposuction that use different techniques to achieve results:

  • Ultrasonic-Assisted Liposuction (UAL) uses patented VASER® technology and the advanced LipoSelection® technique to make it less invasive than traditional liposuction.

  • Laser-Assisted Liposuction (Laser-Assisted Lipoplasty (LAL) or SmartLipo) is an innovative procedure for both removing excess fat and firming loose skin.

  • Water-Assisted Liposuction (Body-Jet) is a technique that also uses a cannula and suctions out the unwanted fat, but in this case, the removed fat cells are harvested to be transferred or grafted to another part of the body.

Following your liposuction procedure, Dr. Tehrani may prescribe a lymphatic massage to some patients, which is the best way to ease swelling, bruising, and surgical discomfort.

Patients are fitted with an elastic garment to wear post-surgery to wear for 2 to 3 weeks. You’re allowed to go home a couple of hours after the procedure in the care of a family member or friend, or have a private nurse visit you if requested.

Bruising will resolve within a week or so, while swelling may take a couple of weeks to go down completely. Once your body has completely healed, you will be thrilled with your new trimmer and slimmer body!

You’ve now got a new body to show to the world, and like a newly emerged butterfly from a cocoon, you’re ready to spread your wings and fly! So go and get that new swimsuit, activewear, or shorts and tank top, and get ready to flaunt it!

Your Transformation Awaits!

People look to plastic surgery as a way to improve their appearance, often perceived as the primary benefit of plastic surgery. But there are many more benefits you may have not considered. Here are some of attributes you can experience from your plastic surgery that will make undergoing it a wise decision:

Increased Self-Confidence

Looking good means feeling good. And any improvements you make to your appearance will boost your feelings of confidence. It helps you change your attitude and celebrate your transformation by opening up socially, or finally feeling confident enough to wear a certain type of clothing and participate in activities you were shy about before having your surgery.

Boosting Physical Health

There are plastic surgery procedures that are performed to improve physical health as well as appearances, such as rhinoplasty or nose reshaping surgery, breast reduction surgery to improve the contour of the body and in some cases relieve physical discomfort from neck and back pain due to extremely large breasts.

Improved Mental Health

There are multiple, positive benefits in mental health from undergoing plastic surgery procedures for those affected by them, which can include reducing anxieties that keep people from interacting socially. Plus improved looks through plastic surgery can lead to greater self-confidence, more feeling of control over life and the willingness to take on new challenges.

Professional Opportunities

There have been studies showing that people who feel better about their looks and exude more confidence may experience greater satisfaction in their professional lives and personal opportunities.

Better Weight Management

For patients who have undergone liposuction and tummy tuck procedures, many find it easier to manage their weight and keep it off post surgery. This in turn may motivate them to keep up healthy practices such as diet and exercise programs.

So Many Reasons to Celebrate!

There are so many potential benefits from having plastic surgery when you feel the need to improve your outward appearance, have medically necessary reconstructive surgery, or to correct a physical imperfection. At Aristocrat Plastic Surgery & MedAesthetics, Dr. Tehrani considers plastic surgery to be the ultimate expression of art.
