Q&A: Does Botox Work On Horizontal Forehead Creases?

I am 38 years old, writes a RealSelf user. “I am desperate to find a non-invasive procedure to help reduce the lines going across my forehead. I have four (two are very small) but I am very depressed about how old I feel and I look because of them. Does Botox work on this type of crease?”Yes, answers Aristocrat’s certified surgeon Dr. Kevin Tehrani, M.D., F.A.C.S.

“Botox cosmetic is effective for wrinkles on forehead. The frontalis muscle “raises” the brow creating dynamic wrinkles or wrinkles due to movement. Overtime this will result in lines at rest or repose. The goal with Botox is to create a gentle relaxation of the frontalis muscle which raises the brow thus you will have movement yet softer lines at rest. Also, chemical peels, fraxel treatments and a Retinol combined with Vitamin C (topical) and Alpha hydroxy acids will further improve lines of the face.”
