“I consulted with a cosmetic surgeon for a mommy makeover. He suggested I get my breast augmentation done first and then the tummy tuck a few days later. He performs the surgeries under local anesthesia and IV sedation. Is it unheard of to have surgery so close together?” a RealSelf user asked.

I have a few problems with the proposed procedure as you have mentioned, first off, I believe breast augmentation and abdominoplasty procedures are best performed under general anesthesia up as they both contain muscular work and relaxation is necessary to provide an excellent result. Secondly, I think there is an added benefit of doing them together regarding recovery as well as placing the implants through the tummy tuck incision without any breast scars. Please make sure your surgeon is board certified by the American Board of plastic surgery.” Dr. Tehrani answered.
