Summer Sun Protection

We can’t stop emphasizing that sun protection is one of the most important elements of skincare! Regardless of the season or the weather conditions, you should never ever skip sun protection.

Sunscreens and sunblocks – is there any difference?

However, when it comes to the choice of a suitable sun protection product, there are some things that need to be taken into consideration.

If your skin is sensitive, sunblocks with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide (they are called “mineral sunblocks”) are your best options. Sunblock sits on top of the skin and acts as a barrier against UV rays. Sunblocks are often opaque and noticeable when applied to the skin.

Sunscreens provide chemical defense, penetrating the skin and absorbing the UV rays before they reach and damage the dermal layers.

People with rosacea or allergy-prone skin should avoid products that contain fragrances, preservatives, and oxybenzone or PABA, which are often found in sunscreens.

How often should you reapply your sunscreen/sunblock?

A very common misconception is that you don’t need to reapply your sunblock if SPF number is high. The SPF number is the level of protection the sunscreen provides against UVB rays. Higher SPF numbers do mean more protection, but the higher you go, the smaller the difference becomes. SPF 15 sunscreens filter out about 93% of UVB rays, while SPF 30 sunscreens filter out about 97%, SPF 50 sunscreens about 98%, and SPF 100 about 99%. But the most important is that any sunscreen’s protection factor (SPF) is only fully effective for two hours after you put it on. Then it needs to be reapplied.

We are excited to share that our new skincare line has several sunscreens each of which is unique in its own way:

This product provides broad spectrum mineral protection against UVA/UVB rays that cause skin photodamage. Portable brush application makes it convenient to reapply throughout the day for maximum sun protection, oil control and a fresh complexion. Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide 24%, Titanium Dioxide 22.5%. This powder also contains antioxidants helping to calm down sensitive skin and minimize potential irritations.

A universally tinted, lightweight and oil-free SPF 46, ideal for oily and acne-prone skin. Formulated with 12% Zinc Oxide, our Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 46 not only provides the skin with protection from UVA and UVB rays, but also keeps your skin hydrated and fights Infrared Radiation that could cause premature aging (thanks to Hyaluronic Acid and Knotweed Extract).

This product combines moisturizing agents, antioxidants, and Hyaluronic Acid to boost the skin’s moisture retention and prevent fine lines and wrinkles. In addition, Ultra Hydrating Cream SPF 40 protects the skin against UVA-aging rays and UVB-burning rays.
