Q&A: Which Would Be Better in my Under-eye Hollow Situation: Orbital Rim Implants or a Fat Transfer?

“I’ve suffered for 20 years from this. I can hardly look at anyone in the eye. Before you suggest I’m too young to have a permanent procedure done, look at my photos. A change is needed for my mental well-being. 2 months ago I had Radiesse injected and while I like the result, I need more volume (I used 2 syringes) and can’t afford the temporary result. My surgeon suggested fat transfer but I’m put off that only 50% will stick & I may need to have another. Am I a candidate for orbital implants?”, a RealSelf user asked.

“Thank you for the question and is encouraging to hear that you’ve had positive results with the Radiesse injections in this area. While autologous fat transfer injections is a good option, I would encourage you to look into Artefill injections in this area. This is an advanced injection technique and you would need it advanced injector to perform this for you.”, Aristocrat’s certified surgeon Dr. Kevin Tehrani, M.D., F.A.C.S explained.
