by Louisa Agate, LMA

Cosmetic lasers can be used for many different purposes from helping to control acne to wrinkles to skin tightening to brightening and beyond! For our patients it can be confusing to say the least. So whether you want to look younger, smoother, clearer or erase some bad decisions that you’ve made, In this month’s article we will discuss the wide variety of lasers we have to offer in Aristocrat Plastic Surgery and what they are used for.

The laser treatments that we offer can dramatically improve:

  • Acne Scarring
  • Active Acne
  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Unwanted Hair
  • Spider Veins
  • Sun Damage
  • Unwanted Tattoos
  • Skin Tone and Texture
  • Collagen Remodeling

Lasers we offer at Aristocrat Plastic surgery:

Cosmetic lasers have become an important tool in our arsenal to improve many skin concerns. By utilizing different wavelengths to target different chromophores in the skin, we can selectively destroy melanin or pigment, hemoglobin or blood vessels, hair follicles or water in the skin to effectively treat all skin colors and conditions. We sometimes combine lasers or skin products to help reach our ultimate goal because lasers are not a one size fits all treatment.

The downtime to each treatment and laser also ranges to specific treatments, conditions, skin color, and how much improvement one needs. It can range from mild redness for a day such as laser hair removal and Clear and Brilliant to red and rough for 1-3 days fraxel and IPL/BBL or raw and scabbing as Fraxel Re:pair or Microlaser peel.

How long until you see results? That all depends on the treatment, the target there are so many many different variables in some cases just one but in others 6-8 treatments. Hair removal for instance, I would say 8 treatments for most women but for men unfortunately they would need more because their levels of testosterone is much higher they would need to be on a maintenance plan since testosterone stimulates hair growth. As a patient of Aristocrat Plastic Surgery, we would start with an in-depth consultation and medical history, we would discuss your skin concerns, issues and desires. With that, we would put together a customized treatment plan that fits your skin type, skin color and skin condition to help reach your desired goals.
