The Glowing Appeal of Chemical Peels

Skin exfoliation and proper care is essential for the health and appearance of the skin. It’s a vital part of daily skincare routines. Exfoliating the skin helps to remove dead skin cells, dirt, oil, and gunk that might clog pores and cause skin outbreaks. It also stimulates the production of collagen that helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and dull skin that sits on top of your face.

This helps the active ingredients contained in your skincare products absorb more thoroughly rather than just reside on the surface. But keep in mind that even regular exfoliation regimens only go so far. In your desire to achieve radiant skin, there are more effective methods for removing layers of less-than-perfect skin. That’s why chemical peels have become a favorite treatment that you may find appealing!

A medical–or chemical–peel is a safe and effective way to strip away lifeless skin and other build-ups that regular exfoliating may not be able to remove. But what all goes into the chemical peel process, how often should you have one, and exactly what does it do? Here’s everything you need to know about the chemical peel process and how it can be added to your regular skincare routine.

Chemical peels are designed to significantly improve the appearance and health of your skin. Layers of dead skin cells are exfoliated and replaced by new healthy skin to improve the appearance of visible skin imperfections, including fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation irregularities. A series of 4 medical peels is usually the most effective.

When it comes to chemical peels, Aristocrat MedAesthetics and Plastic Surgery offers a wide range of treatments to meet the needs of every facial type and skin condition.

Choose Your Peel!

If you’re thinking of undergoing a chemical peel but don’t know where to start, we’re here to guide you through the many choices you have at Aristocrat.

APS Glow Peel

APS Signature Pigment Peel

The APS Signature Pigment Peel is a system that involves a specially medicated mask and a custom at-home regimen that works to dramatically lighten stubborn pigmentation including post-inflammatory pigmentation, and also address melasma, sun damage, acne scarring, uneven texture, lines, and wrinkles. The mask is applied during an office visit where it is compounded freshly by the medical professional to ensure its potency and reliability. The masque is removed by thepatient after a required length of time depending on their skin type. Patients leave the office with this mask on their faces. Patients are responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, but strict, at-home regimen involving the application of the at-home system of products following mask removal. Results will vary but generally, patients will see a significant improvement in the appearance of pigmented areas. Dark spots will lighten and skin texture and tone will improve. Although many patients experience peeling of their skin, not every patient will notice this. Even if the patient does not peel they are still receiving all the benefits of APS Signature Pigment Peel, which will include: stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminishment of new lines and pigmentation.

Can You Schedule A Chemical Peel And Have The Treatment The Same Day?

No, for several reasons. When scheduling a chemical peel, you will need an initial consultation with one of our professional aestheticians at Aristocrat. This is where your skin type is identified, and your skincare professional will review your medical history, what skincare products you currently use, and the type of skincare treatments you’ve received. Without considering all of these factors first, a chemical peel may do more damage than good.

Following Your Chemical Peel

Depending on the specific type of skin peel you receive, you should be able to return to normal activities soon following your treatment. With lighter (more topical) peels you may expect to be able to apply makeup the next day or within a week or so. Deep (penetrating deeper layers) peels, may take a few weeks (or so) to ensure that your skin is completely healed to reduce any possibility of skin reaction before applying certain types of products. Your expert Aristocrat aesthetician will be glad to review the specifics based on the chemical peel you receive.
