HydraFacial works deep into the skin layer to treat fine lines and wrinkles, congested pores, excess oils, dark spots, and acne. Published clinical studies performed by leading U.S. doctors have proven that HydraFacial yields greater results than IPL, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels. With patented, 4-in-1 vortex technology, HydraFacial cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and infuses skin to give it an amazing glow and a smooth, baby-soft feeling.

Helpful Tips to Prepare For Your HydraFacial Skin Treatment

Here are some recommended steps you can follow leading up to the day of your treatment:

Six Months Before Your Treatment:

You should stop using any products that contain Isotretinoin, like Accutane. In your consultation with our licensed medical aesthetician at Aristocrat, be sure to mention whether you’re using any of those products. We may be able to make exceptions.

Two Weeks Before Your Treatment:

Avoid receiving any laser treatments to your face. Medium or deep chemical peels and dermal filler treatments should also be avoided during this time.

One Week Before Your Treatment:

You shouldn’t schedule any dermal filler treatments ahead of your HydraFacial appointment. While you can undergo a Botox treatment within eight days of your HydraFacial, if you must have Botox on the day of your HydraFacial treatment, it’s important that you schedule it after the HydraFacial has been performed.
Five Days Before Your Treatment:

Between three and five days before your HydraFacial, begin a skincare routine specially designed for your skin. Our licensed medical aesthetician will prescribe the appropriate APS signature products that will work best for the goals you wish to achieve. Your routine should also include a sun protection product to keep your skin safe from UV rays.

Three Days Before Your Treatment:

In the 72 hours before your treatment, avoid any excessive, unprotected exposure to the sun. Taking into account the sun’s most intensive hours, typically between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., make sure to wear a broad spectrum sunscreen product that has an SPF of at least 35. For fair skin, you may require UVA and UVB ray protection of 55 at the least. Also avoid using tanning beds at this time.

Two Days Before Your Treatment:

In the 48 hours before your appointment, refrain from using any over-the-counter medications to treat acne. Products that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide should be avoided. Do not have any waxing done or use any depilatories, and do not use any kind of treatments for exfoliating the skin, especially those which contain active enzymes or glycolic acids. As a final precaution, don’t use any product that you apply topically that contains tretinoin, such as Retin-A.

On Treatment Day:

It’s highly recommended that men receiving a HydraFacial treatment not shave on the day of their appointment. If shaving is a must, do so at least three to four hours before your appointment. Cleanse your face with a pre-approved cleanser that will not cause irritation after your HydraFacial. Also, remember to bring any medications that you regularly take.

Tips for After Your HydraFacial Skin Treatment

The best part about the HydraFacial treatment is that there is no downtime. Patients can even be treated during a work break! Once the procedure is complete, you’ll be able to see the excrement that has been pulled from your face deposited in a small jar, demonstrating the proven results a HydraFacial delivers. Nevertheless, it’s advisable to follow a few post-treatment tips to ensure optimal results.

One Day After Your Treatment:

The first day after your HydraFacial, stay away from heat. Shower or bathe with lukewarm rather than steaming hot water. Intense cardiovascular activity and deadlift weight training should be avoided. Also refrain from using saunas and applying makeup to your face.

Two Days After Your Treatment:

Continue avoiding over-the-counter acne medications, exfoliating treatments, waxing, or any products that contain tretinoin or depilatory ingredients.

Three Days After Your Treatment:

It’s always important to protect your skin from the sun, but particularly so in the first three to five days after your HydraFacial. This is because the treatment removes the dead skin cells from the top layers of your skin. As a result, a layer of fresh, healthy skin cells are exposed and are more vulnerable to sun damage. Once again, avoid facial exposure to the sun between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and do not use tanning beds for at least three days following your treatment.
